Oh Butterfly!
4 hrs of hardwork.. tuf to extract tat from me!! But i somehow managed to complete the recording yesterday in my room. Fixed the headphone mic on the table draw; the A/c took care of soundproofing the room; so noises were less likely.Lessons learnt -Never do a recording alone. u need somebody to hit the record button and play button several times! :) So ppl! I need ur honest n frank comments and suggestions. . .
The details:
Song: Oh Butterfly
Movie: Meera
Music: Ilayaraja One of my favourite numbers.
Played on my Acoustic guitar.
Recorded and Mixed using Cool Edit Pro
Ashwin - A music Freak!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been knowing him for the past 7 years one of my intimate friends hitherto and for ever.
He is the lead guitarist in our college orchestra. His passion towards music is tremendous and this mind blowing piece is the cogent evidence.
I have friends who are die hard music lovers, musicians but I ve not seen such a person like Ashwin with such a dedication and heat towards music.
Guitar is his first lover( he he!!)
Keep Rocking dude!!!
Oh butterfly! When i first heard the original score of this song i thought nothing could beat this masterpiece. Now with Ashwin's guitar version, i would say the song has been beaten by itself. And obviously noting the quality of the musical recording.. couldnt believe that this has been done in his room. The mood of the song was completely captured in addition to his added flavours to it. I would luv to hear much more from this gifted guitarist. And this is... Something from my heart with butterflies flying all around!!!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME !!!! You have arrived Ash !!
ReplyDeleteThat was truly a good rendition almost as perfect as the original. You have captured the nuances so very well,
cant believe the recording was in your room (too good for a single effort)!!!
Your own improvisations to the song almost went unnoticed the first time I heard !!
I may never like to be your competitor here ;)
Hey Ashwin... we are eagerly waiting for your next insrumental man... when r u gonna upload it???
ReplyDelete@ Arun - Ur encouragement will keep me going da!!

ReplyDeleteAsh(win).... I am not surprised to see your composition here. From the day i met you, I admire the way you impress others by your music.... You have created a feel in this music. Butterflies got their soul back...Isn't it!!!!! I don know how those 5.56 min past... Simply superb.... Eagerly waiting for your creations here Ji.... Do post them in this blog and i will get relaxed on hearing those songs...
ReplyDeleteScintillating...that is the feel one would get hearing Ashwin anna's fingers play on the strings of his guitar...It is an absolute pleasure to watch and hear him perform right from my college days till this date. Unbelievable that he recorded this track on his own. Though the feat must have been tiresome, I would say it is really worth it anna. This audio seemed to be the instrumental track that was released along with the original album. All the improvisations without hindering the original mood of the song is not something that is capable by any ordinary music artist. You always have it in you anna. Looking forward to see you performing with the top artists of this country.
ReplyDeleteWish you loads of success and fame in the years to come....
You are making me understand what passion is :) Wonderful... thanks for kindling the search in me....
ReplyDeleteanna..inda song'la pichitinga ponga..do rock on many other songs na.. :) :)
